I was asked by Build Your Own Kits to create an animation, featuring their most recent additions to their Wallace & Gromit collection - Gromit and Feathers McGraw. They wanted something that would show off the kits in a new way to their audience, bringing life to the kits themselves.
Surprise!
I also created an animation prior to 'Surprise' called 'Lift Off', using the Grand Day Out Rocket kit and its contents, which included both Wallace & Gromit, as well as the Cooker from the moon. I received the Rocket kit for Christmas and once built I decided to create an animation using it. The idea behind this short was to animate the build up and launch of the rocket taking off from the moon.

Both of these animations were very well received by the guys at Build Your Own Kits. They absolutely loved them and I loved working on them, using cardborad puppets was a fun experience and I was surprised at the versatility of the kits.

The Build your Own Kits are amazing and great fun to build with amazing detail. All their Wallace & Gromit kits can be found on their website with all ther other creative kits.
